Blogging Alone

I'm apparently in a loving mood as of late.  As usual I worked today (headband once again explained).  Although Jeramie had planned to be home with me this evening, allegedly a fabulous snowplowing opportunity came up.  So he's out enjoying man things.  This of course left me without a photographer for the evening.  Hence the self photo of me trying to give some love to my killer dog and all around great gal companion, Katie.  As everyone has heard me say a million times, "she's my girl!"  If you don't understand my canine adoration, let me explain.  She's the one that's always excited to go on trailing adventures with me.  I think she thought all of my traveling nurse opportunities were just so I could take her on new trails :)  She smiles when I get home, misses me when I go upstairs, and can't ever get close enough.  For those in the world that know and love this wonderful ratty, you know she lies down beside you and then scoots just one more time to make sure she's right up close.  Always a lover of food, she often eats so fast she chokes (a girl after my own heart).  Always curious, she's been known to open the zipper on my backpack to get out the gum and loves to find the tootsie rolls at Grandma's house.  Above all else, she is willing to eat anything.  Her tastes range from a tube of triple antibiotic ointment with lidocaine (boy she must have been numb and slobbery for awhile) to afore mentioned "tootsie rolls."  Alas my baby is turning eleven this year (that's seventy seven in dog years).  As we grow old together, I cherish her more and more.  I know her days with me are finite.  This just makes every "awww Mom" expression more sweet because I know they won't be flashed my way forever.
